I asked my wife if she had seen the movie, she hadn’t.
So, I looked up the Wikipedia synopsis, meh!

They must have been pretty decomposed after several years had passed.

yea a lot of people do it on wood too, its stupid dangerous even if you used to working with high voltages, most people are just normals trying to make something artsy and lots have been injured or killed

This is not quite a fulgurite but is kind of a simulation of what a ground strike could cause. However, this is a dangerous hobby as a DIY’er artist couple were found dead several years ago from electrocution.

Since it is logical that the usual cloud-to-ground lightening strikes creates fulgurites….I wonder does ground-to-cloud lightening create them as well ?

I remember a research article on ancient fulgurites that showed lightning was more intense millions of years ago.

TL;DW – Too long Didn’t Watch. Didn’t feel like fast forwarding to find the fulgurite part. Would have been nice if you would have posted “FF to hh:mm in the video for the fulgurite part”.

Some bits i believe really were petrified wood, but the majority probably fulgarites.
Interesting. Thanks.

P.S. Why Farenheit, can we stick to SI units?
